Gift
Certificate For A Closed Restaurant
Darlene asks: I heard you mention on your Food Show last Saturday that Table One on Magazine had closed and is under new ownership. I am holding a $125 gift certificate to Table One and was planning to use it soon. Can you tell me who took it over and how can I reach them or am I just plain out of luck? Tom sez: First, let's note that this is Table One that's closed, on the corner of Magazine and Washington. One Restaurant and Lounge, on Hampson off S. Carrollton, is still very much open and remains excellent. Table One is already gone, and the restaurant that will be moving in there will be totally different. However, the owners of Table One also own Byblos. They would almost certainly honor the gift certificate at either of those restaurants. That's so different a place (Lebanese, but as good as it gets around here) that it might not satisfy you completely. But at least that's a start in settling the issue. They may have other ideas. I send it to subscribers by e-mail, and make it available on a private site on the website. They also get access to all past articles, indexed for easy use. No advertising! Upgrade to the Five-Star Edition! You truly cannot argue with the price: whatever number of dollars you think it's worth. (If you give too much, I'll extend the subscription.) If you change your mind later, I'll give you a refund. Click here for more information and a sample. Copyright © 2008 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. |
