Le Parvenu

Chef Dennis Hutley cooked for 26 years in New Orleans retsaurants before opening hisDiRoNa Award Winner own place in 1996. During that time, he cooked for some of the greatest chefs and restaurants in town, from Robert Finley at Masson's to Gunter Preuss at the Versailles. A highlight of his career was cooking for Pope John Paul II during his visit to New Orleans.

From opening day, Chef Dennis's Le Parvenu has been a favorite both of critics and of New Orleans diners. It gets a particularly warm welcome from residents of Kenner, River Ridge, and the River Parishes, where Le Parvenu is  the place one goes in those areas for first-class food and wine. The menu changes with the fresh ingredients the chef shops for every day. It all comes together in contemporary Louisiana dishes with just that last little classical touch that makes a dish memorable.

All of this is in an old cottage in the Rivertown area of Kenner, between the railroad tracks and the river. Dine in the intimate dining rooms or on the porch, as you wish.

And Le Parvenu is ready to make any private dining event special for companies, groups, or individuals. (as in brides and graduates.) A rehearsal dinner or a sales luncheon. . . a club dinner meeting or a family reunion. Chef Dennis will be happy to create a fixed-priced menu for anything like that. Or even for something entirely new and different.
