Archived Article By Tom Fitzmorris Originally published November 23, 2005 Click here for the current edition Twenty-Five Best Restaurants Open Now In East Jefferson Parish Since I first compiled our ten-best lists of re-opened restaurants three weeks ago, so many restaurants have entered the market that I think it's time to recalculate them. And stretch them. This includes white-tablecloth restaurants, both big-deal places and bistros. I was struck, as I assembled this list from my complete list of open restaurants, how small a percentage of the best places are in Jefferson, as opposed to Orleans. My guess would have been that the much better conditions in the suburbs would result in a much stronger restaurant scene. That is not true, at least not at the top level. Orleans Parish still has three great restaurants for every one great on in Jefferson, even though only one in four restaurant in Orleans is open right now.
