You Decide The Price! Money Back If You Change Your Mind.

From its inception in July, 1997 until Hurricane Katrina, The New Orleans Menu Daily was a free service. The storm changed everything, and moved me to convert the newsletter into a subscription service without advertising. I also wanted to enhance the newsletter, updating it constantly, the way newspaper web sites are. To add graphics and photos to it. And to add a linked and dated index to past reviews, recipes, and articles.

So now the Menu Daily is available only to readers who are interested enough to pay something for it. I leave the amount in dollars up to you. Send whatever you think it's worth. Really. I mean it. I'll set the length of your subscription accordingly. (It has to be a very small amount indeed to buy less than a year). Contributors I find too generous will find years added to that. A few such people now have non-expiring subscriptions.

What do you get?

Five days a week, I write at least five original pieces for the Menu Daily. The restaurant reviews are based on recent, real meals in local restaurants, paid for out of my own pocket, with ratings. The recipes are all tested in my kitchen. The other articles grow from my constant coverage of the local food scene. (This is my only job.)

On top of the obvious kinds of articles, the Menu Daily also includes offbeat items. Like our Extinct Restaurant series, remembering great restaurants of the past. And my continuing restaurant soap opera, Back The The Wall. One of the most popular features (although I've never understood why) is my personal daily Dining Diary.

All past articles are archived and indexed. You have full access. At this writing, it includes over 125 full restaurant reviews, all up-to-date, with two or three added weekly. Over 200 recipes. And dozens of top-ten lists.

Every weekday, I send all the day's new articles to you by e-mail. If you don't want the e-mail, you can opt out without affecting your subscription to the main newsletter page.

Subscribers get priority, personal information service. Ask me a question, and I'll answer as soon as I can.

Everything on the free NOMenu.com page or in the weekly Red Bean Edition appeared first in the Five-Star Edition. Plus lots more.

No advertising. The New Orleans Menu Daily doesn't sell outside advertising to anyone. (We promote our Eat Club events and my own cookbook, as you see at left--but that's about it.)
