The Acme's funky old downtown Covington location was the first of the Acmes to reopen after the hurricane. But as soon as the management opened their new restaurant on US 190 in the former Boule Prime House, they closed the Boston Street restaurant. Temporarily, they said, until they could recover enough staff to run both places. Well, the crowds at the new places are blowing the doors down, and so the Boston Street Acme is open ahead of schedule. Now all the Acmes that existed before the storm are back open--plus the new one. 519 E. Boston, 985-898-0667. Lunch and dinner continuously. © 2006 Tom Fitzmorris.
