The official release date is, as usual, the Thursday before Thanksgiving--November 16. There will likely be quite a few events featuring the wine, but the first one that crossed my desk sounded good enough to build an Eat Club event around. That will be a first--I'm almost always out of town on Beaujolais Nouveau Day. It's at Antoine's. If you missed the lunch we did there about two months ago (and I turned away about fifty people for that), here's another chance to join us and see what they're doing to the old place. Here's the menu. We'll have a little Beaujolais Nouveau (from Georges Duboeuf), but most of the wines will be Grand Crus Beaujolais, which I think you will find more interesting. Souffle Potatoes Stuffed Mushrooms Combination Salad (hearts of palm, mixed greens, red onions, shaved carrots, chopped walnuts, crumbled Roquefort and vinaigrette) Grilled Trout with shrimp etouffee Lamb Chop with mint port wine reduction sauce Cherries Jubilee Coffee They'll have a reception at seven, with dinner beginning at seven-thirty, Thursday, November 16. The price is $85 inclusive. Reservations should be made with the restaurant, 581-4422. If you'd like to join us at our Eat Club tables, tell them you want to be seated with Tom Fitzmorris. Or reserve your own table, if you prefer (and who could blame you?). © 2006 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. news@nomenu.com |
