Some of the restaurants that people have been yearning for are hard to explain. Betsy's has been serving basic breakfasts on Canal Street for decades, and it has such a loyal following that we have been constantly asked about its fate. Well, it's open every morning again, serving the same menu as before. The best news about this is that Betsy's was in very deep water that stood for a long time--the kind that has prevented most restaurants in Mid-City from reopening. At last, we're on the beginning of the renaissance for these restaurants, which include some of the best neighborhood cafes in the whole city. Watch for many more of them to open shortly.
