Included will be the familiar cuvees as well as some more expensive bottles--notably Grande Dame, the top of the Clicquot line. The dinner is on Wednesday, October 4, and begins at 6:30 with cocktails. If you've not been to Houmas House in recent years, you'll be astonished by how thoroughly the place has been remade. The house got an unusual restoration, while the gardens have a lushness to their planting that probably has never been seen there before. The price is $100, inclusive of tax , tip, and wines. You make reservations by calling 225-473-7841. Here's the menu, created by Chef Jeremy Langlois: Tower of jumbo lump crabmeat served with mango avocado salsa, Cajun caviar and avocado coulis. Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow Label Bisque of curried pumpkin with crawfish and corn. Veuve Clicquot Vintage Brut 1999 Skillet roasted sea bass with white asparagus and foaming butternut squash beurre blanc. Veuve Clicquot Vintage Rose 1998 Pan seared plume de veau veal steak topped with Roquefort blue cheese and jumbo lump crabmeat and served with a tasso potato cake. Veuve Clicquot La Grand Dame Pear Wellington A spiced pear wrapped in flaky pastry and serve with candied golden raisins and champagne crème Anglaise. Veuve Clicquot Demi-Sec © 2006 Tom Fitzmorris.
