Court Starts Table d'Hote Lunch

The Court of Two Sisters, which seems to be in earnest about its program to appeal to locals more than it has in the past, has added a table d'hote $25 lunch to its midday offerings. Previously, they had a brunch buffet, which I find just okay--certainly not as good as what they serve in the evening. They'll keep that going, but now you have the option of remaining at the table and being served the specials of the day. They'll change the whole thing daily, with two choices of entree.

The new chefs--Peter Chan, who had been at the Flaming Torch, and Mario Abdu--are being encouraged to get creative, along the lines of the Uptown bistros. That's the best news to come out of the Court of Two Sisters in years.

One more thing that's clearly for locals: two-dollar martinis and bloody marys at lunchtime. 613 Royal, 522-7273.
