By Tom Fitzmorris Originally published October 8, 2008 Wednesdays Through Fridays Lunch Returns To Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse Dickie Brennan was surprisingly quick to reopen his steakhouse on Iberville Street after Katrina, given the fact that the dining room--the only one in the city below street level--filled up like a swimming pool when the sump-pump power went out. He had to rip out everything--even the studs--and rebuild from scratch. But he did. What didn't return after the storm was lunch. Until now. Beginning Wednesday, Octover 8, the Steakhouse is back for lunch on Wednesdays through Fridays. Included are all the steaks from dinner, if that's what you want. Also here is the amazing (you can eat mine) one-pound prime hamburger, a new chili made with prime rib, and a whole stuffed Maine lobster. They're serving all this in both the handsome, masculine dining room, and the more casual bar. Before the storm, quite a few people ate lunch in the bar, served by a popular waitress named Gerry who's been there almost since the beginning. They're also serving a five-dollar Grey Goose martini in a glass beaker, keeping alive a tradition of absurdly oversize drinks at places like the Rib Room and Arnaud's. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Dickie Brennan’s Steakhouse.
