By Tom Fitzmorris Originally published June , 2007 Dickie Brennan Will Open In Baton Rouge Dickie Brennan's three restaurants in the French Quarter are within two blocks of one another. But the fourth restaurant will bring that average up considerably: it will be in Baton Rouge. Dickie and his partners have agreed to open a restaurant in a soon-to-be-built major hotel on the southeastern outskirts of the capital city, on Bluebonnet Lane, in the vicinity of the Mall of Louisiana. The hotel is being developed by Mike Wampold, who one of the partners in the Astor Hotel on Canal and Bourbon Streets. Dickie Brennan's Bourbon House is in that hotel. The Renaissance Baton Rouge Hotel will be the first major hotel built outside the downtown area in Baton Rouge in thirty years. The area is burgeoning, helped by its proximity to LSU and the growing medical corridor in the area. Dickie isn't saying what the restaurant will be named or its theme. But the hotel will have a Cajun theme, so maybe that will be the idea for the restaurant, too. The Brennan's have not been much for duplicating their existing restaurants in new locations, choosing instead to make each one different. The Dickie Brennna Restaurant Group--whose partners include Dickie, his sister Lauren Brennan Brower, and Steve Pettus--now operates the Palace cafe. Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse, and the Bourbon House. © 2007 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. news@nomenu.com |
