Intimations Of Normality
Farmers Market
Back Where It Started

The Saturday after Mardi Gras, the supply of and demand for vividly fresh food direct from its producers brings about a revival of the Crescent City Farmers Market, in its original location. Although the Market has been running at Uptown Square for many weeks, that was only one of four venues before the storm. Now we have two.

This revival is on the corner of Magazine and Girod, in a concrete square donated by the William B. Reily Company where its warehouse once stood. Every Saturday, from eight in the morning till noon, rain or shine, the farmers, fishermen, and makers of artisanal food products show up to purvey a reliably excellent array of edibles.

You cannot help but have your table improved by a visit to the Market. Not only is the quality superb, but you will ber tempted to buy some things you might never have cooker before.

The Uptown Square Market continues from 10 a.m. till 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Meanwhile, other markets continue to covene in the old courthouse neighborhood of Gretna, in downtown Covington, and at the Mandeville Trailhead.
