Feelings Cafe Comes Back
Feelings Cafe added itself to the very short list of restaurants open eat of Elysian Fields last week, when it resumed service in its early-1800s building in Marigny. The main house and the guest houses suffered little damage and no flooding; the biggest problem was that most of the neighborhood--from which the restaurant draws both patrons and employees -- was hit hard by the storm. They're back with a somewhat abbreviated menu Thursdays through Sundays for dinner, and Fridays for lunch. The person I spoke with there couldn't say whether the Sunday brunch is being served, but that would likely be the busiest meal of the week for them, so I suspect it is. (I will try to find this out later today.)

Feelings, if you've never been there, is an antique restaurant with a menu from thirty years ago. Despite that, it's been consistent and charming for years, and worth going to. 2600 Chartres, 945-2222.
