Felix's has been throwing seafood at New Orleanians and
tourists for
nearly sixty years on Iberville Street off Bourbon. That place is still
open (half of it, anyway), but now there's a new Felix's, in the space
that was until last year Vaqueros--corner Prytania and Robert. (It's
the eleventh restaurant to occupy that location over the years.) The
new Felix's opened Tuesday with the same outsized menu (there's much
more
on it than, say, the Acme's menu) that it had in the Quarter. Uptown
needed a fried seafood place. By the way, the traditional way to say
the name is the French way: "feh-LEEKS." 4938 Prytania. 895-1330. © 2005 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. news@nomenu.com |
