Are you a food connoisseur, critic, chef, aficionado, restaurant owner, food expert or are you just in a serious love affair with food? Food Network is currently casting expert foodies of all kinds in the New Orleans area to be a part of a fun and exciting new TV series! The show focuses on two teams who race through many of the culinary hot spots of New Orleans, competing in challenges in the ultimate chowhound smack down! It’s an amazing “food-adventure” race! We are looking for high-energy, dynamic and competitive two-member teams (husband and wife, parent and child, two good friends, two co-workers, etc.) who are between the ages of 25 and 45, and who have some connection, knowledge and experience in the food industry. NOTE: We are not looking for people who just enjoy a good meal. But if you are a chef, caterer, professional baker or something along those lines. . . we want to meet you! Please also note that you must audition as a team, at the same time. Auditions will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009. Contestant teams should come to the Clearview Room, across from the Food Court, in the Clearview Shopping Center in Metairie. Interviews will be held between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM only. The show is set for a May taping in New Orleans. For further information, please email foodies@annemasseycasting.com. Well! I guess I'm out of the running, since at fifty-eight (older than Rex!) I'm thirteen years past what these guys consider prime. And, besides, I enjoy a good meal. Yeah. What could I possibly add? Facts? Taste? Knowledge? What happened to shows that showed us how to cook and dine out better? What, really, does anyone get but shallow entertainment out of this kind of crap? And what is a "food-adventure race"? © 2009 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. news@nomenu.com |
