Bistro Menu All Afternoon
Herbsaint Closes Service Gap

Herbsaint, Donald Link's French bistro on St. Charles at Girod, has become so popular that they've begun keeping afternoon hours. From two till five on weekday afternoons--when the restaurant had been closed--a "bistro menu" is in force. The selection is more or less like a tapas menu, plus a few bigger items. Not as substantial as lunch, but more so than bar snacks. Here's a sampling of the matinee menu:
  • Mussels with Frites $12
  • Shrimp and Spinach Flatbread $14
  • Antipasto plate $16
  • Housemade Ham and Gruyere Tart with Seasonal Lettuce $11
  • Terrine du Jour $10
  • Steak with Frites  $30
  • Baked Lamb and Eggplant Lasagna $12
  • Artisanal Cheese Plate $12
  • Pomme Frites $5
