Archived Article By Tom Fitzmorris Originally published April 18, 2006 Click here for the current edition Irene Building A New Restaurant Irene Di Pietro, the owner of the fantastically successful (and very good) Irene's on Chartres Street, has another restaurant  in the works. The Vieux Carre Commission is considering a few minor changes to an already-approved restaurant at 529 Bienville, a recently-renovated building that housed WNOE Radio for decades. The developers did a great job with the old structure, and from the looks of it it will make a fine restaurant location. (For a look at it, click here.) Irene's family has been running restaurants around town for a long time, including (currently) Fausto's and the Brick Oven Cafe.
