It was one thing for the restaurants in the French Quarter to get back open, and find that the local diners would keep them busy enough. It's quite enough for the likes of a praline shop--which sells predominantly to tourists--to get back to work. But Laura's Candies, the oldest (1913) and one of the best of the French Quarter praline shops, is back at work in its old 331 Chartres location every day but Sunday. They make not only pralines, but a wide range of chocolates. © 2005 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. news@nomenu.com |
