Early Evening Specials Return To Palace Cafe, All Afternoon
Right before the hurricane, the Palace Cafe started a program of early-evening three-course dinners at what amounted to lunch prices. They just began that again, with two changes: the prices is even lower than before ($30s then, $20s now). And they start the special menu at 2:30 in the afternoon, keeping service going all afternoon. The early-dining specials stay on till seven.

Here's a sample of the menus they're offering. The price of the entree is the price of the entire three-course dinner.

Entree
Pecan-crusted Gulf fish with Creole meunière, spiced pecans, popcorn rice, and vegetable du jour $25
or
Herb-crusted rotisserie chicken with garlic mashed potatoes, Chinese long beans and sauce pistou $27
or
Oven-roasted 14 oz. pork porterhouse chop served on lentil stew, touched with a Creole mustard-apricot demi glace and topped with apples, salami, grilled onions and cornichons $29

White Chocolate Bread Pudding
