By Tom Fitzmorris Originally published March 14, 2007 A Sicilian Wine Dinner At Andrea's Every March, Andrea's celebrates St. Joseph's Day for the entire month with a special Sicilian menu--one of his best specials all year. This year, in addition to that (which is available at lunch and dinner every day), he'll offer an expanded version with wines. The date is Friday, March 23; the price is $65, inclusive of tax, tip, and wines. Here's the menu: Antipasto Caciu All'Argintera Caciocavallo cheese sautéed in olive oil with garlic, balsamic vinegar, and fresh oregano. Wine: Rotari Arte Italiana Brut Sparkling Caponatina Melanzana Eggplant sautéed in olive oil and served at room temperature with a sauce of tomatoes, pine nuts, capers, raisins, and a little red vinegar. Wine: Arancio Grillo Pasta Cu Li Sarde Milanese Bucatini pasta with the classic sauce of fresh Mediterranean sardines, fennel, pine nuts, raisins, tomatoes and bread crumbs. Wine: Arancio Nero d'Avola Fava Bean Soup Lucky beans in a soup with leeks, onions, and chicken stock. Wine: Arancio Chardonnay Choice of Entrees: Pesce Spada a Chiotta Fresh swordfish, steamed in a sauce of olive oil, tomato, garlic, green olives, celery, capers, and bay leaves. Capretto Messinese Baby goat in a saucy dish with white wine, potatoes, rosemary, garlic and tomatoes. Tender and wonderful. Tonno Marinara Fresh tuna sautéed with capers, tomato, oregano, basil, chopped olives and bread crumbs. Wine: Arancio Syrah Choice of Desserts: Cannoli Siciliana A shell of flour and marsala, stuffed with ricotta, pistachio nuts, candied fruit and chocolate. The ultimate Sicilian dessert.
