By Tom Fitzmorris Originally published July 19, 2007 Tales Of The Cocktail Spirited Dinners Tonight The Tales of the Cocktail did not strike me as a an idea with legs when it premiered five years ago. But what do I know? Organizer Ann Rogers survived the loss if its original major sponsor last year, and is back this year with the biggest program yet. It started yesterday with a dizzying number of ticketed seminars and special events (more of those to come through the weekend). But tonight's bill of fare is the most interesting part of the event. Twenty-one restaurants have "Spirited Dinners" tonight. These are along the lines of the Vintner Dinners in the Wine and Food Experience, but with a unique difference: instead of pairing wines with each of the courses, the restaurants serve cocktails. The dinners range in price between $65 and $85, inclusive of tax, tips, and all the cocktails. Some of the dinners are sold out, but reservations can still be obtained for most of them.
