The prediction is that the avid regulars that always kept the restaurant full before the storm will be able once again to have Mr. Tony feed them, starting some time in January. Few restaurants in New Orleans took more water than Tony Angello's, where the flood lapped against the slope of the roof and filled the entire first floor. It's not far from the levee break, and the devastation in the neighborhood is still sobering. However, that will not make a difference: when the restaurant reopens, its tables will be among the hardest to get anywhere in the city. © 2006 Tom Fitzmorris. All rights reserved. news@nomenu.com |
