On Channel 12--Dining Lots, Too
WYES-TV's Annual Wine Auction Tonight

Channel Twelve's long-running annual wine auction is tonight--Thursday, November 29, starting at 6 p.m. Over seventy lots of wines, some of them quite rare from private local collections, will be up for bids. The money goes to support New Orleans's public television station, WYES, which is still struggling from disastrous damage to its studios by the hurricane.

You can actually go to the studios at 916 Navarre Avenue and insopect the lots. They'll also allow you to bid from there, if you'd like. But most of the bidding takes place by phone, as the whole auction is televised on Channel Twelve.

Aside from the wines, there are some lots offered by wineries and restaurants for special tours and dinners.
