The controversy has gone on for many decades: which is better, the thick fish at Middendorf's, or the thin? I say the thick, because it's about as thick as I remember the thin fish being when I first started eating there. The important thing is that all the catfish here comes from smaller fish, which for catfish is a very good thing. I wish they made better hush puppies. They are back open again, and talking about raising several of their buildings even higher than they already are.

Were you working for the insurance company that denied payment to Middendorf's because Tangipahoa was not named an official disaster area even though, a couple hundred yards away, St. John Parish was? Even though Middendorf's had three feet of water inside its historic building? Come on, man. I'm trying to be useful here, not legalistic. Tastefully yours, Tom Fitzmorris
