Cavan Co. 3607 Magazine St., New Orleans When it was first announced, this Uptown offshoot of Sylvain was called Manor on Magazine. The restaurant was to be a showcase for Sylvain's long-time chef Alex Harrell. In November, however, Harrell left to create Angeline, his own restaurant (see above). Sylvain co-owner Robert LeBlanc said Cavan Co., which does not yet have a chef, would combine Sylvain's casual atmosphere with a hearty, meat-heavy menu inspired by Montreal's Joe Beef but still grounded in the South. The name is a reference to County Cavan in Ireland, where LeBlanc's great-great grandfather was raised in an orphanage before he sailed to New Orleans at age 8. Opening: Second half of 2015
