A regional chain based in Houston, Landry's will make the mind of anyone who's lived in Southeast Louisiana more than 35 or so years reel with recognition. In every detail save one, it looks like any of a hundred joints way out on swampy two-lane blacktops--just a whole lot bigger. That's where the resemblance ends, though: the menu, service, and food are in the same spirit you'll find at places like Houston's, TGI Friday's, and Applebee's--just with a Cajun spin. Neither cheap nor generous, the food here just makes me angry: the premises make one expect the real thing, and this ain't it.
