Magasin Kitchen will open at 611 O'Keefe Ave. in the Paramount, the first phase of the $200 million, mixed-use South Market District covering four blocks off Loyola Avenue. Girod Street, with widened sidewalks and outdoor cafes, will serve as the heart of the apartment-retail-restaurant project, according to developers The Domain Cos. "I'm proud to bring Magasin Kitchen to South Market's residents and visitors," Magasin owner Kim Nguyen said in a news release. "Creating the menu came naturally to me, but Magasin Kitchen's concept goes beyond just fresh, healthy food. We're introducing a sustainable restaurant that features local and seasonal produce, and embraces green design and practices."
