Morton's Seafood
Anecdotes & Analysis
On the bank of the Tchefuncte River in the quaint North Shore town of Madisonville, Morton's is a picturesque, rambling, and very busy seafood tavern. Although the food is prepared with less than stringent attention to detail, I find the place pleasant--perhaps because there are so few seafood restaurants on the North Shore. The specialty is boiled seafood; a sign outside flashes when the crawfish, crabs, or shrimp have just emerged from their boiling liquids. They also have a good oyster bar and lots of grilled specials.
